As the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia draws to a close, we invite you to discover the VIDEO of this edition, created by us to guide you through the places, the key figures, and the visions that made this year’s experience truly unique.
A story that unfolds through the pavilions of the Giardini, offering an overview of an edition deeply reflecting on the future of building and living.
A tour that step by step leads to the heart of the exhibitions, culminating in the Rolex Pavilion, where light, matter, and intelligence merge into a single vision.
An emblematic project that embodies the deepest meaning of Intelli/Gens, the theme of the 2025 Architecture Biennale, curated by Carlo Ratti, which places at its core a timely and essential reflection: “Building the world with intelligence, while listening to the intelligence of the Earth.”
The Rolex Pavilion, designed by Mariam Issoufou Kamara, an internationally renowned architect and authoritative voice in sustainable architecture, perfectly illustrates how tradition can engage with technology in a sustainable and poetic way.
“I didn’t design something and then look for the best artisans to realize it; I did exactly the opposite,” says architect Mariam Issoufou Kamara, who honored us with a visit to Vistosi and our furnace in April 2024.
It is in the choice of materials and creative partners that the true heart of the luxury brand’s project takes shape.
The architecture stands out for its distinctive glass ceiling that covers the entire pavilion, a luminous and contemporary reinterpretation of the maison’s iconic features. The “glass sky” was created in one of the region’s most representative glassworks of this ancient craft, where the manual gesture becomes a contemporary language, refracting natural light into infinite shades of transparency. In this context, the glass—handcrafted using techniques passed down through generations—becomes a living architectural element, capable of bending natural light and transforming the space with a material poetry perfectly in harmony with the theme of the Biennale: Intelligent. Natural. Artificial. Collective.
Once again, Rolex, Exclusive Partner and Official Timepiece of the Venice Biennale since 2014, renews its commitment to supporting design excellence and the pursuit of responsible innovation, transforming its pavilion into a space of reflection and beauty.
